Here are some of the funny/cute things Katie has said in the past month or so:
Katie: Look! A 6 is on that sign.
Mommy: Yeah, that's a Motel 6.
Katie: Maybe we can sleep there in that hotel some day.
Mommy: No, hopefully we would be able to find a better place...
Katie: Oh! Like an 8 Hotel?!?
Katie: Mommy, I want Jesus in my heart.
Mommy: Okay. All you have to do is ask him and he will live in your heart.
Katie: Okay, I'm going to say a pray and ask him to be in my heart ... after I finish my froot loops!
(Walking up to a sales clerk in a store)
Katie: Hi! I'm just looking around! Thanks!
(This week after school)
Katie: We made indians today at school for November! .... And Pirates!!!

October 2011
October was a very fun and busy month. We went to the fair, the pumpkin patch, fall festivals, and played soccer. Luke turned 7 months old and worked all month on growing 2 new teeth. Katie's choir sang in church for the first time, and she ran in her first race. (Mommy also ran in a 5K since she's been working on the Couch-to-5K program.) We had fun with Halloween. Katie was a very cute Tinkerbell, and Luke was a cuddly teddy bear. Katie and Luke took some very cute school pictures this month, and Mommy and Daddy decided to make things really interesting by both being sick at the same time. What a crazy month!
Here are some October pictures for you:

Luke is 8 Months Old!
("Haha! You will never get a good picture of me now that I LOVE to move!")
Today Luke is 8 months old! I cannot believe how fast he is growing up! He will not have another check up at the doctor until 9 months, but I stood on the scale with him today and decided he is about 22 pounds.
Luke has still not figured out how to crawl on his hands and knees. But, he does NOT let that keep him in one place. A month ago, he was content to sit in his little gated play area and just play with all his toys. This month, he has decided that he should be moving around the house, following his favorite family members (Katie and Maggie) wherever they go. It is so cute to see him interact with Maggie. It's almost as if he just realized last week that there was another being in this house, and she is not like the others. So, he isn't too sure what to think of her, but he sure thinks she is funny. (I will try to upload a video of this interaction.)
Luke has almost 4 teeth, now. Just this past week his top two teeth have surfaced. His top, right tooth has actually popped through the gums, and the left one is visible but hasn't actually popped through quite yet. He has been using these new teeth to try out some new finger foods. He has practiced eating puffs and baby mum mums in the past couple of weeks.
Luke still loves to eat, but has definitely shown a preference for sweet foods. He loves all fruits, but has become more picky about the vegetables he will eat. He still likes (sometimes) carrots, peas, squash, and green beans. He really doesn't care for any other veggies we have given him.
Luke is still wearing 9-12 month clothes now (just like he was at 7 months), size 4 diapers, no shoes (his feet just seem too chubby!), and he has had his 4th hair cut. His hair grows STRAIGHT up, and it will not stay down no matter how much water or brushing is applied.
This past Sunday, we celebrated Luke as a gift from God, and had him baptized at church. We promised to love him and surround him with the opportunity to grow and strengthen in his faith as a Christian. Despite the fact that Mommy was sick and did not get to join the family at lunch, it was a wonderful day.
What a blessing our children are! We are really enjoying watching both of them grow and learn as the months fly by (even though it seems WAY too fast!)

Pumpkin Patch 2011
Luke is 7 Months Old!?!!
Luke turned 7 months old today (October 8th)! We do not have a 7 month check up at the doctor, so we have no stats, but we do know that Luke is a BIG boy. He is wearing 9-12 month clothes and size 4 diapers, and we have actually bought him some pants to wear now that it's starting to get cooler outside. He spent pretty much the whole summer in just onesies. Wearing pants has been a little bit of an adjustment for him, but we figured he had to learn sometime!
Luke is still the happiest baby we know.
He loves to sit up and play in his little gated play area. He loves it even more when Katie comes in to play with him! He is really good at reaching for things, and he can lean WAY over to grab something and sit right back up. He likes to push up like he is thinking about crawling, but he still hasn't gotten up on his knees yet. He is awesome at pivoting and scooting on his belly.
He started saying "Mama" a while ago, but then decided not to say it at all for a couple weeks. Just last night (in the middle of the night - he still wakes up one or two times a night), he started crying for "Mama" again, so things are back as they should be. The only sounds he really says are "ma-ma-ma" and "bah-bah-bah." He has not really attempted to say "Da-da" yet, though he may have accidentally said it one or two times.
Luke has eaten all kinds of foods now - yogurt, squash, green beans, peas, applesauce, bananas, broccoli, carrots - almost anything that is available in mushy baby food.
Luke is still awesome about going all over the place for Katie's activities and all the fun stuff we have been doing lately. Katie has had soccer, ballet, choir, and swimming lessons during the month of September. Luke is great about sitting and happily watching from his stroller or our lap. He is just the happiest baby!!!
We love our 7 month old!
August and September 2011
We have been so busy during the months of August and September. We have had lots of fun, experienced some firsts (mostly for Luke), and had some rough times as well. During September, Katie almost got her front tooth knocked out on the playground at school. Luke got an infected eye. He has had a clogged tear duct that got infected and very gross looking. And, Aaron got really sick one weekend. I think we have had enough injuries and illness for a while! So, let's focus on the fun stuff we did during August and September...
Here are some pictures from August.
Katie and Luke (and Mommy) had their first day of school. Luke had his first EVER day of school.
Another thing Luke did for the first time in August was to sit in a high chair (at home and in restaurants). He really loves to be able to sit up and be a part of meal times.
Katie had her first Wednesday night choir. She loves to sing and dance on Wednesday nights! In a few weeks, she will even get to sing in front of the church on a Sunday!
Katie and Luke really started to play together more in August. Luke adores everything Katie does, and there are many times when she is the only person who can get Luke to laugh and smile.
We also had a fun time celebrating Aaron's birthday at Fuddruckers. We celebrated with family, balloon hats, burgers, and birthday cake.
In September, we stayed busy. Luke turned 6 months old (I still can't believe he is halfway to ONE year old)! We went to the doctor for his 6 month check up.
Katie and Luke had fun reading with each other. Katie did most of the reading, and Luke really enjoyed listening to Katie's stories.
Aaron and I got to go to a UGA football game! It was so much fun, just like the old days! Unfortunately, my enjoyment was hampered just a little bit by a grammatical error on the huge banner sign that goes around the stadium...
Luke had a lot of fun learning some driving skills from Daddy, and took some naps in some odd places (in his high chair at Willy's). Speaking of Luke sleeping, we still put him down to sleep on his back every time. He always turns right over onto his belly. Even though "they" say babies should sleep on their backs, Luke is SO cute when he is sleeping on his belly!
Katie and Luke have both enjoyed dressing in their GA colors to watch football. Katie loves to call out the Dawgs.
